Australia Awards Scholarships opportunities available for Vietnam

Applications for the 2018 selection round of the Australia Awards Scholarship will be open from 1 February until 30 April 2018. Applicants can apply online at http://bit.ly/AustraliaAwardsScholarship. Results will be announced by the end of July 2018.

The scholarships are for central and provincial agency officials (including mass organisations), staff of NGOs and Vietnamese companies, academics and researchers. People with disability, from disadvantaged rural areas and from ethnic minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. A support scheme is available to assist equal participation for these disadvantaged applicants.

Successful applicants will commence Master degree study at an Australian university of their choice in 2019, in priority areas for Vietnam’s development: governance and economic growth, transport, water and sanitation, education, gender equality, agriculture and rural development, regional stability and human rights, disability and climate change.

Applicants are assessed on their professional and personal qualities, academic competence and, most importantly, their potential to impact on development challenges in Vietnam.

“The Australian Government is committed to helping Vietnam build its human resources and strengthen the country’s level of professional and technical knowledge and skills. To date, the Australian Government has provided over 6,000 prestigious international scholarships to Vietnamese students. I am proud of the enormous contribution they have been making to Vietnam’s development and the enduring people-to-people links with Australia.” said Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, HE Mr Craig Chittick.

Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international awards offered by the Australian Government to the next generation of global leaders for development. The Australia Awards Scholarships are part of a broader investment by the Australian Government – Aus4Skills, which includes Australia Awards Short Courses and informal learning opportunities to address knowledge and skills gaps to help Vietnam realise its aspirations to become a prosperous and socially inclusive country.

Eligibility criteria and special conditions for applications are summarised in the Vietnam country profile. Full details are available at the website http://australiaawardsvietnam.org.
