Australia Awards Scholarships Intake 2026 (Semester 2) open for applications

Applications for Australia Awards Scholarships Intake 2026 for Master’s study in Australia is open to Vietnamese citizens to apply from 1 February to 30 April 2025. Results will be announced in August 2025. Studies commence from June 2026 subject to approval by both Australian and Vietnamese governments.

The Australia Awards Scholarships (known as AAS) provides a unique opportunity for Vietnamese citizens to gain world class education in Australia, build lifelong personal and professional connections, experience Australia’s diverse culture and develop knowledge and skills in priority areas of study that will make a difference to Vietnam’s development.

“The Australia Awards Scholarships are helping up-skill Vietnam meeting its goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045. Scholars will benefit from new knowledge, leadership skills and the links they create both in Australia and through the global alumni network. Besides AAS, the Australian Government will provide additional scholarships under the Mekong-Australia Partnership (MAP) this year. These scholarships offer exclusive access to an on-award enrichment program and create opportunities for enduring connections between MAP scholars across the Mekong subregion.” said Ms Renee Deschamps, Charge d’Affaires of the Australian Embassy in Vietnam.

The scholarships are available for central, provincial and district-level agency officials, staff of non-government organisations and Vietnamese companies, academics and researchers to apply. People with disabilities and from disadvantaged rural areas are strongly encouraged to apply. A support scheme is available to assist equal participation for these applicants.

Applicants can choose various study areas, including agriculture, digital transformation, education, environment, climate change, governance, gender equality, disability, health and human rights. The application process is competitive and applicants are assessed on their professional and personal qualities, academic competence and, most importantly, their potential to impact on development challenges in Vietnam and promote relationships between Vietnam and Australia.

Since 1974, the Australian Government has provided over 7,000 Australia Awards scholarships for Vietnamese nationals to study in Australia. On their return, many alumni have been very successful in their careers and are now in senior positions in Vietnam. We are proud that alumni have made substantial contributions towards Vietnam’s socioeconomic development and built invaluable lifelong networks both in Vietnam and Australia.
