Our Australian alumni
There are nearly 100,000 Australian alumni in Vietnam, including over 7,000 Australia Awards recipients.
Alumni are Vietnamese people who studied, researched, or trained at Australian education institutions (in Australia or another country), including long and short courses, online or face to face. Alumni may be scholarship recipients or self-funded.
Vietnamese alumni of Australian education in Vietnam have a wealth of knowledge, expertise and influence, and are making valuable contributions to Vietnam’s development. They are also strengthening linkages between Vietnam and Australia.
Networking and professional development
Alumni can also join six Alumni Professional Groups, which can be found through the Australian Alumni in Vietnam Facebook page. The Alumni Professional Groups provide access to events and activities relevant to particular interests and expertise.
Each group is facilitated by Co-Convenors, who are alumni volunteers responsible for developing annual activity plans, promoting events, and implementing the activities with Aus4Skills Alumni Engagement team’s support. Through their leadership, Co-Convenors help build an active alumni community, strengthen Australia-Vietnam partnerships, and increase recognition of alumni expertise. Co-Convenors are competitively selected by Aus4Skills from an open self-nomination process and usually work in up to two years terms. Following are the Co-Convenors in 2025.

Australian Alumni Grants Fund
The Australian Alumni Grants Fund (AAGF) managed by Aus4Skills provides funding for successful proposals from Vietnamese alumni of Australian education to consolidate their professional knowledge and skills; contribute to organisational change in selected Vietnamese government, private sector, civil organisations and other partners; and strengthen linkages between Australia and Vietnam.
Since 2017, seven grant rounds have supported Australian alumni to deliver projects in targeted areas across Vietnam.
