Today is International Day for Rural Women and to commemorate this day Australia Awards Vietnam is highlighting the work of Australia Awards - Vietnam alumnus, Vu Thi Hien, the founder of the non-government organisation Centre of Research and Development in Upland Areas (CERDA).

Australia Awards Scholarships

The Australia Awards Scholarships 2017 round has been completed with the announcement of 60 conditional awards following the Joint Selection Committee meeting on 11 July 2017. In addition 6 conditional awardees have been placed on the reserve list. All will study at the Master degree level at a university

Counselling Service for New Australia Awards Alumni

With the aim of supporting newly returning Australia Awards alumni who may be experiencing emotional, family or work related issues, Aus4Skills has contracted a professional counselling company who will provide services to alumni who completed their studies and have returned to Vietnam within the past 12 months.

Changing the mindset and actions of Vietnamese women and girls about violence

After attending a 10-week training course at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia Awards Fellows from the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) hoped that with the knowledge they gained, they could contribute to changing the mindset and actions of Vietnamese women and girls facing domestic violence and violence in society more generally.

After receiving an Australia Awards Fellowship, Thao Van actively participates in alumni activities, wishing to share her experience as well as to gain more knowledge on issues concerning people with disability and women in leadership.

Thao Van, who is wheelchair-bound, two years ago attended the 10 week course ‘Enabling Women’s Safety and Child Protection’ course at Flinders University, Adelaide under an Australia Awards Fellowship.
